Skin cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in Australia each year and unfortunately Australia leads the world in deaths from skin cancer.
Australia has a high level of UV for much of the year and we love the sunny outdoors! By doing the right thing in terms of prevention, detection and treatment, we can turn this statistic around.
Bella Face has introduced skin cancer screening to detect, diagnose and treat skin cancers.
Dr Nici is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). She has a special interest in skin cancer medicine. When Dr Nici is not at Bella Face, you can find her at Sundoctors Skin Cancer Clinic, Kotara.
Skin checks are important for everyone. 2 out of 3 Australians will have some form of skin cancer before the age of 70. Dr Nici recommends regular at home self checks of your skin to monitor for any new or changing lesions. If a spot changes in colour, shape or size, if it starts to bleed or itch, becomes firm or raised, then it should be reviewed by a doctor and managed appropriately. Fortunately, if diagnosed early, most skin cancers are treatable. So be aware of your skin and your spots!
If you are due for a skin check, or have never had one before, Book An Appointment to see Dr Nici for a thorough and professional skin check.
