Bella Face is known locally as the place to go for beautiful natural looking lips
With age, lips generally lose their volume, shape and definition. The oral commissures (extension of the ‘laugh lines’) thin out, widen and turn down. The surrounding skin also thins as it loses collagen and elastin, and you start to develop vertical lines. The harsh Australia sun also serves to accelerate this process!
Some people have naturally asymmetric lips, or a thinner top lip that might not suit their facial profile. Some lose the definition of their ‘cupid’s bow’ or the pink vermillion border that gives our lips their shape.
Luscious plump lips no longer need to belong to those in their teens and twenties. The last couple of decades has seen a revitalisation of options and techniques available to enhance beauty without surgery, and one of the most popular treatments at Bella Face Cosmetic and Skin Clinic is a lip enhancement.
This is one of Dr Nici’s favourite treatments. She has developed a loyal following throughout the Hunter region for her subtle lip enhancements. Dr Nici is highly skilled in both anatomy and aesthetics, so knows how to intricately balance proportions and create a natural looking result.
A beautiful treatment can leave you feeling full of confidence and smiling again with purpose!
By using a soft and natural dermal filler, the team at Bella Face can restore volume, refine the borders and refresh your juicy plump lips. There are a range of treatment options including:
Hyaluronic acid is a natural product in our skin. A sugar molecule that attracts and holds up to a thousand times its weight in moisture. As we age, we produce less of this molecule causing our lips to lose volume, shape and definition. Lip fillers are made of a synthetic hyaluronic acid which is a soft gel that can be used to restore volume, refine fine lines and add definition for a refreshed appearance. The dermal filler mimics our natural hyaluronic acid, and over time integrates with our own tissue to ensure a natural and authentic result. The dermal filler we use also contains local anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort during treatment.
We will perform a full facial assessment that includes a discussion of any concerns you may have and your desired outcomes. We will then develop a comprehensive and personalised treatment plan for you.
Lip filler is completed with either a needle or cannula depending on your unique features and desired outcome. There are various options to manage any discomfort including topical anaesthetic cream, dental block and nitrous oxide gas.
Most procedures are completed within 30 minutes.
The beauty of a lip enhancement is that results are instantaneous. There may be some minor swelling immediately following the treatment and this will gradually settle over the next 2-3 days.
Dr Nici and Nurse Karen always book a post-treatment review 2-3 weeks after treatment to allow for any swelling or bruising to resolve, and to ensure you are completely satisfied with the result.
While you will no doubt love your luscious new lips and wish they could last forever, the longevity of the treatment varies from client to client. Over time the dermal filler slowly integrates with our natural tissue. The time this takes depends on personal metabolism and activity level.
A lip enhancement typically lasts 6-9 months and is easily maintained with top-up treatments to ensure the volume, shape and definition of your luscious new lips remain as just as you love them!
Many people considering lip fillers worry that their lips will look unnatural, ‘done’ or ‘ducky’.
At Bella Face you can be rest assured you are in the hands of a highly trained and experienced team. Creating the perfect lips for each individual client requires extensive training and experience to master the myriad of techniques available. Nurse Karen has over 35 years’ experience and Dr Nici is also an accomplished skin cancer doctor so has not only the knowledge of the complex anatomy of the face, but also the gentlest of hands for performing these treatments.
Some people are concerned their lips will no longer feel natural or soft. The dermal filler Bella Face uses is a soft malleable gel that over times integrates with your natural tissue so that your lips feel exactly as they did before your treatment.
There is some risk of mild redness, swelling or bruising after your treatment, so please consider your lifestyle and upcoming events when scheduling your lip filler treatment.
The team at Bella Face provide a complimentary consultation for all new patients to assess your unique features and facial profile, to understand your expectations, and to formulate a treatment plan that suits you.
At Bella Face we only offer the highest quality of injectable dermal fillers. Prices for lip filler start at $450.
Additional treatments can be added to a lip treatment plan to improve the results. This includes:
Based on your individual facial profile and skin integrity, Dr Nici and Nurse Karen will discuss the best treatment options to enhance your natural beauty.
