Hyperhidrosis is the name given to excessive sweating due to overactive sweat glands. For some this is most apparent under the arms, while for others it is on the scalp, palms or soles of their feet. Some people seem to have a genetic predisposition for the condition.

The treatment is given using precision injections with tiny needles. The amount required depends on the size of the area being treated and the particular outcome discussed in your personalised treatment plan.
The treatment itself takes about 30 minutes.
There is limited downtime and most people return to their daily activities following the treatment. There may be some mild swelling and discomfort in the treated area which typically resolves within a few hours. Exercise should be avoided for 24 hours after treatment.
The injections are very quick and we use tiny needles to minimise discomfort. Some patients like to apply ice packs prior to the treatment and we also provide a medical grade anaesthetic cream as well as nitrous oxide gas for those with lower pain thresholds.
When performed by a highly trained doctor the hyperhidrosis treatment provides relief for between 6 to 9 months. We always schedule a post-treatment review 4 weeks after the initial treatment to assess the results and provide a ‘top up’ if required. Botulinum toxins are only temporary, so subsequent treatments will be required to maintain the results.
